What will I learn from this webinar?
We will discuss recent research looking at the health and nutrition profiles of different plant-based alternatives, which will allow individuals and health care professionals to choose/recommend those that are most appropriate for individual objectives and offer the greatest co-benefits in terms of both health and the environment.
- Gain a deeper understanding of the greater nuance that is needed when discussing the health and nutrition profile of plant-based meat alternatives, including taking into account what is being substituted and by whom.
- Gain a deeper understanding of the environmental case for eating less meat in higher income countries, with a focus on GHGEs and water footprints.
- Develop an understanding of the food environment barriers to increased consumption of plant rich diets in the UK.

About the speaker
Rebecca manages the Food Foundation’s business and investor engagement team, with oversight of the Foundation’s work engaging food businesses, investors and policy-makers with the need to transition the UK towards a more sustainable and healthy food system. This includes our Peas Please and Plating Up Progress projects which focus on shifting businesses towards more healthy and sustainable food portfolios. Rebecca is a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr, Public Health) with a background in science communication, joining the Food Foundation from the Nutrition Society.
