The importance of lifestyle medicine as a tool for preventing and reversing chronic disease is coming to the forefront of clinical practice. Diet and nutrition are an important aspect of lifestyle medicine, yet medical, nursing and allied health professionals are poorly equiped to use nutrition in clinical practice.
This event will provide the basics of why and how predominately plant-based diets are a key to the practice of lifestyle medicine. The science and practical aspects of nutrition will be covered. In addition, the role of commuity organisations and how to get involved in the lifestyle movement as a student will be discussed.
This event is brought to you by Plant-based health professionals UK, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to provide evidence-based education on whole food plant-based nutrition. We are volunteer-run and our team work within the NHS in the UK.
