IBLM Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physicians

To certify as a Lifestyle Medicine Physician you must be:

UK – a qualified doctor holding the MBBS degree

Europe – hold a recognised medical degree

IBLM Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professionals

To certify as a Lifestyle Medicine Professional, you must hold a Masters or Doctorate degree in a health or allied health discipline.

The prerequisites for the physician level are:

Proof of your relevant medical degree

30 hours of online CME from an approved course (LMBRC strongly recommended)

20 hours of event CME from an approved event or combination of events

IBLM Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professionals

To certify as a Lifestyle Medicine Professional, you must hold a Masters or Doctorate degree in a health or allied health discipline.

The prerequisites for the professional level are:

Proof of your professional credentials in a health-related discipline

30 hours of online CME from an approved course

20 hours of event CME from an approved event or a combination of events

    Online CME

    For optimal exam preparation, we strongly recommend the ACLM Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review Course, 4th Edition. Please note that only the non-CME version is required. The course is available at $499 (~£390) for non-members of ACLM, and  $374.25 (~ £292) for ACLM members.

    Event CME

    We are providing 20 hours of approved event CME:

    NLMC 25 virtual (6 hrs)

    Saturday October 4th 2025, online

    NLMC 25 LIVE (2 x 7hrs)

    The IBLM accepts live in-person/online CMEs from the following events/providers:

    Rules:

    • While the IBLM sets the certification competencies and Lifestyle Medicine standards, it is the participant’s responsibility to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience from reputable sources.
    • CMEs must be no older than 36 months from the date of the exam.
    • Proof of CMEs, credentials and case study must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the certification exam.
    • CMEs from Lifestyle Medicine conferences immediately preceding an exam are exempt from the above 30-day rule

    Please note that:

    Prerequisites are reviewed and approved only during the 30 days before the exam

    Exam results will not be communicated until all prerequisites have been submitted and approved

    It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct professional credentials and have accumulated the required CME hours, submitting them before the deadline

    The cost to certify is a one-time fee, dependent on your registration level and PBHP membership status. We encourage you to join PBHP UK as a member before registering, as this is a cheaper option, and you will also be able to support us and enjoy the member benefits.

    PBHP UK member price – £1299 (includes certification fee + non-refundable registration fee of £235)

    Non-member price – £1399 (includes certification fee + non-refundable registration fee of £235)

    Exam Logistics

    Exam duration: Maximum 4 hours

    Exam items/questions

    • 150 multiple choice questions for Lifestyle Medicine physicians
    • 120 multiple choice questions for Lifestyle Medicine professionals

    Exam questions are written to NBME standards

    Format: proctored exam held on 8th November 2025, in central London using the Classmarker software.

    Exam entrants will need to bring their own laptop or tablet and power cable. Power supply and excellent Wi-Fi will be readily available.
